The 2026 season is just starting here!
In 2025, we temporarily paused the sale of honey bees to the public.
This decision allowed us to dedicate our full attention to developing our unique strain of UBO Selected CaucasianX honey bees, ensuring their quality and disease resilience for future seasons.
Following the encouraging results of the 2025 season, we are continuing to explore the full potential of this strain in the 2026 season.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to strengthen and improve our stock for the years ahead.

Unrestrained by exaggerated domestication, our bees retain the natural instincts of their wild ancestors. Initially created in response to the challenging conditions of the Long Range Mountains, our bees have developed a following across the province.

Supported by advanced scientific methods of selection, at its core, our program follows a sustainable biological model of breeding; Identify honey bees that possess the traits that enable them to thrive in the mountains, and then breed from those bees.

While Newfoundland is currently free from the varroa mite, we are committed to future proofing our bees, and the Newfoundland Honey bee industry from this threat.
In 2024, preliminary testing identified the potential for the VR trait in our colonies. Beginning in 2025 we will attempt to quantify and propagate this trait in all our bees.

We aren't your typical beekeepers, and our bees aren't for everyone - but they are for those who share our sustainable and humane approach to working with honey bees.
Isolated in the Humber Valley we have developed a novel and unconventional approach to raising bees in this uniquely challenging landscape.
